Holiday Features

We bake wonderful seasonal breads, rolls and cakes for specific holidays. Due to popular appeal, we suggest you order our holiday offerings in advance. These include the following...

Pane Alla Cioccolata
Valentine’s Day / Special Orders

Dark chocolate and dried cherries flavor this traditional Italian dessert bread. For Valentine’s Day we bake it in the shape of a heart. Capture someone’s by bringing one home.

Irish Soda Bread
St. Patrick’s Day / March

This traditional, uniquely Irish bread, made without yeast, takes its name from the leavening agent: baking soda. An Irish staple for over 100 years, it is tender and dense with a slight sour tang and a hard crust. We serve it in March when we celebrate all things Irish.

Hot Cross Buns
Easter / April

Serving Hot Cross Buns at Easter time, specifically Good Friday, was a practice that began with the English in the early 1700s. These slightly spiced buns, filled with currants, cranberries and apricots, are scored on the top in the outline of a cross.

Autumn Pumpkin Pecan Bread
October and November

Autumnal smells of pumpkin, pecan, cinnamon, nutmeg and the like combine to create a full dose of your favorite fall flavors. It’s a bread that’s certain to bring to mind carving jack-o-lanterns as well as eating pumpkin pie. Try it with honey butter.

Rustic Bread Stuffing
Thanksgiving Week/Before Christmas

Perfect with any roasted turkey recipe, we make traditional Thanksgiving stuffing from our hearty artisan breads. Our stuffing mix is superior in both texture and taste to commercial mixes (which often include corn syrup and/or hydrogenated oils). It’s the perfect stuffing for your feast’s roasted turkey centerpiece.

Thanksgiving Rolls
Thanksgiving Week

These pull-apart rolls, shaped in a grape bunch, are the perfect addition to the Thanksgiving table.

Christmas Stollen
December

German Christmas Bread, “Dresden Christollen,” is enjoyed around the world. The name Christollen is taken from its unusual shape – a long loaf with a ridge down the middle and tapering ends – designed to represent the swaddled Christ child. Traditionally, two stollen should be bought at once, one for giving and one for keeping.

Panettone
December

This Italian Christmas Cake, a favorite gift, is renowned throughout Italy and the rest of the world. The story of its origin goes back to a Milanese baker named Toni. Toni created the tall, domed cake to lure in the beautiful woman who past by his shop every day. His creation, “Pan di Tone” or “Toni’s bread,” became, through the years, Panetonne. We hope it lures you in.

Christmas Eve Rolls
Dec. 23-24

These pull-apart rolls, shaped in a Christmas tree, are the perfect addition to the Christmas dinner table.
