Irish Soda Bread
St. Patrick’s Day / March
This traditional, uniquely Irish bread, made
without yeast, takes its name from the leavening agent: baking soda.
An Irish staple for over 100 years, it is tender and dense with a
slight sour tang and a hard crust. We serve it in March when we
celebrate all things Irish.

Christmas Stollen
December
German Christmas Bread, “Dresden Christollen,”
is enjoyed around the world. The name Christollen is taken from
its unusual shape – a long loaf with a ridge down the middle
and tapering ends – designed to represent the swaddled Christ
child. Traditionally, two stollen should be bought at once,
one for giving and one for keeping.

Panettone
December
This Italian Christmas Cake, a favorite gift, is renowned
throughout Italy and the rest of the world. The story of its
origin goes back to a Milanese baker named Toni. Toni created the
tall, domed cake to lure in the beautiful woman who past by his
shop every day. His creation, “Pan di Tone” or
“Toni’s bread,” became, through the years,
Panetonne. We hope it lures you in.
